Chef Sharon Van Meter, WMCSA graduate of Le Cordon Bleu, Paris, France, Chef Sharon Van Meter brings over thirty years of culinary experiences to the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Chef Van Meter has served the culinary world as Executive Chef at the Ritz-Carlton, Chicago and International, Professor of American Cuisine at Le Cordon Bleu, Paris, France, Executive Chef, Neiman Marcus, Dallas, Texas, and Director of New Projects Development for FOOD Network TV. In 2009, Chef Van Meter became the first female President of the American Culinary Federation's Texas Chefs Association—Dallas Chapter, a position that she still holds today. Chef Van Meter has been inducted in the honorable culinary societies of Epicurean World Master Chefs Society, Les Dames d'Escoffier and Euro-Toques International. Her humanitarian efforts range from the fight on hunger with Share Our Strength's "Taste of the Nation" to the National Aids Foundation "Touring Chefs" to Habitat for Humanity "House Party." Chef Van Meter is a spokesperson for First Lady, Michelle Obama's "Chefs Move to the Schools" campaign to fight childhood obesity. In 2008, she received the National Restaurant Association's "Cornerstone Humanitarian Award" in 2010 received the "Cutting Edge" award from the American Culinary Foundation. |
